Leasing municipal land can also generate lease income. In addition, municipalities benefit from a municipal levy of 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour produced in accordance with Section 6 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act. The municipality also generates income from the trade tax, which must be paid when operating a solar park.

FOR A SOLAR PARK?
Our criteria
Which criteria do we use to choose land for the construction of a solar park?
In order to be able to construct a WIRCON GmbH solar park, an area of at least 10 hectares is required. This could e.g. be a landfill, industrial, military or mining site, or land that lies alongside motorways or railway lines. Solar parks are also built on soils that have a low value, preserving high-quality soils for agriculture or nature conservation. To feed electricity into the power network, a grid feed-in point is required. Topographically, it is important that the area is free from the shade of trees or buildings, so as not to impede solar strength. Terrain with a topography that is either flat or, if hilly, faces south, is best suited for installing rows of solar modules efficiently and without shade.
